Day one. Okay to be honest it's a little harder than I had thought it will be. I was up ALL night the night before and I couldn't sleep because I was so stoked to just leave. Simply that "just leave". I was ready for a change, ready for new people, new beginnings, new life just about. And don't get me wrong God has me right in the place he wants me to be and I know this is going to be a great adventure and an amazing experience. I have always known it was going to be hard but the things I forgot to brace myself for are the worse. Like the whole food issue... pretty sure I just had 1 cup of pasta and a glass of water for dinner. Only due to lack of food in the kitchen that I can eat without getting SERIOUSLY sick. The other big ish is... I'm so used to getting up and doing my "thing" .. well not knowing any one or any where m "thing" will have to be on the wait list until I figure out where I can walk without getting whistled at ;) Ha but really it's not that bad it's just crazy how with in an instant you realize how blessed you are. Down to the ohh I'll just go walk the streets mentality I can have in Cannon Beach. Or the garbage on the streets here.. it's crazy to know that this is just the surface of the issue. The very surface.
Today was crazy when I got in. I met my roommates 3 swedes.. and there are more down the hall. I'm talking like 8 or so swedes.. nuts! There is one girl from Seattle...yes PNW! Hmm a boy from England, Florida, Sri Lanka... oh and an Ausi is coming in tomorrow. There are a few of the Cali butts here ;) I got dropped off at STN and within 20 min I had rallied some interns to hit the beach. We took the bus and 20 min later we were laying on the sandy shores :) Odd how rough it was to be there with complete strangers and not my family. It's an odd thing because yeah it's an adjustment but it's more of an adjustment knowing my brain goes.. Hawaii - Sun - Family - and it's the only things it's ever known.. not now!
Tomorrow I believe we have a car wash we have to help out at but get this.. this is the weirdest thing for me is time off but not really. Basically we don't have work work until Tuesday. Nutty huh? But in all reality we do have stuff. Any ways. I'm talking gibberish. I'm SO tired and I just want to go to bed and wake up refreshed. Please keep me in your prayers as this is a hard adjustment and a tough change.
Much Love.
Julie
