Molokai Outreach!
Today we found out what outreach we will be going on for October. Our intern group is so huge that we had to split the team in two and half of us are going to Kauai and half of us are going to Molokai. I had hoped and prayed to be put on the Molokai team and --- woop woop -- I am! So most of this post is just to vent a little of my excitement because I'm not sure what the entire outreach will look like but as far as I know it's gunna be epic. We are gone for 10 days and half of that is spent in the Kalaupapa Leper Colony. I've heard it is closed to the public and you can only go if you are invited. We get to spend time with the occupants and just serve them how ever needed. We will hike down and spend a few nights with them. I'm so stoked for this. I guess the hike down is pretty legit and I'm just honestly stoked to spend time on a different island. I know with out a doubt it's going to be a tough time but a great one too. We will be there over Halloween so that means we will be helping out at some festival thing that I guess about 1/4 of the population attends -- so it's a pretty big hit over there. We will be leaving the 19th or 20th I'm not sure and be back shortly after... I can't express enough how stoked I am for this trip. PTL for another great opportunity to serve. I can't wait to go on this inner island outreach!

Wow, the Leper Colony is still there!? I've read about it my whole life practically and found it fascinating, but had no idea that they still used it! I figured we had a cure from leprosy by now! Have an awesome time there doin your thing for the Lord and Him doing whatever it is He wants for you! God bless your heart...Sue B
